With “Really Big” “Record-Breaking” Fundraising, Maggie For NH Is “Bringing In The Kind Of Campaign Cash She Needs” Against “Muddled” Republican Field

Wednesday, April 6, 2022

With another “record breaking” quarter, Maggie for NH this morning once again broke New Hampshire fundraising records — putting Senator Hassan in a commanding position for her re-election. The “really big Q1 fundraising figure” is “the third highest quarterly haul all-time, ranking behind only the final two reports of Hassan’s senate campaign in 2016” and shows that Maggie for NH is “bringing in the kind of campaign cash she needs”  — while Republicans have “struggled to recruit a high profile candidate” in the race and the current primary field remains “muddled.”

WMUR: Sen. Hassan Posts Record-breaking Fundraising Haul For First Quarter

  • Sen. Maggie Hassan is facing a tough reelection fight this year, but she is bringing in the kind of campaign cash she needs if she’s going to survive in the political headwinds of a midterm election.

  • Hassan is posting a record-breaking $4.3 million fundraising haul for the 1st quarter of 2022, a figure her campaign says is the most in New Hampshire history for this particular quarter and the third highest quarterly haul all-time, ranking behind only the final two reports of Hassan’s senate campaign in 2016.

  • “Our campaign’s record-breaking support will ensure that we can reach Granite Staters in every corner of the state and amplify Senator Hassan’s record of taking on corporate special interests to lower costs for New Hampshire families,” Maggie for NH Campaign Manager Aaron Jacobs said.

  • The Hassan campaign tells News 9 95% of its contributions this quarter were $100 or less, and it currently has $7.5 million in cash on hand.

  • Her campaign said in a statement on Wednesday that Hassan’s fundraising track record this cycle gives her an advantage over the state’s multicandidate GOP Senate primary.

  • “While the Republican primary candidates navigate a four, and potentially five, person primary, our campaign remains laser-focused on lifting up Senator Hassan’s record of getting results for New Hampshire,” said Hassan’s campaign manager, Aaron Jacobs.

  • In March, Hassan’s campaign announced a $13 million reservation in fall airtime ahead of the midterm elections. On the GOP side, Republicans have struggled to recruit a high-profile candidate to run against Hassan.
