The organization pointed to Senator Hassan’s long record as “a fighter on behalf of seniors” and her commitment to “fighting against efforts to privatize Social Security and Medicare.”
In the Senate, Senator Hassan has a “perfect 100% rating” on the National Committee’s Congressional Scorecard.

Going back to your time as Governor, you have been a fighter on behalf of seniors and their families. And in the United States Senate your impressive record of standing up for older Americans has earned you a perfect 100% rating on the National Committee’s Congressional Scorecard, demonstrating you understand the critical role Social Security and Medicare play in maintaining a high quality of life for older Americans. And while Social Security and Medicare are crucial for millions of Americans, their benefits are modest. The average Social Security check is just over $1,500 a month, and much of that goes towards paying for Medicare deductibles and prescription drugs. That is why you have worked to enhance and preserve these essential benefits, fighting to ensure that New Hampshire’s seniors can live in dignity.
You have also been one of the National Committee’s greatest allies in pushing back against extremist and radical privatization schemes.
