NEW: Senator Hassan Endorsed by Leading Social Security & Medicare Advocacy Organization

Wednesday, September 28, 2022

Today, Maggie for NH welcomed an endorsement from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM) PAC – the leading advocacy organization fighting to preserve and strengthen Social Security and Medicare. The organization pointed to Senator Hassan’s long record as “a fighter on behalf of seniors” and her commitment to “fighting against efforts to privatize Social Security and Medicare.”

In the Senate, Senator Hassan has a “perfect 100% rating” on the National Committee’s Congressional Scorecard.

Check out the full endorsement below:

The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare PAC, on behalf of its millions of members and supporters nationwide, including over 10,000 in New Hampshire, enthusiastically endorses your candidacy for reelection to the United States Senate. In your time in office, you have consistently stood up for everyday Granite Staters while fighting against efforts to privatize Social Security and Medicare, and the  United States Senate needs your independent leadership to confront the challenges our nation will face in the years ahead.

Going back to your time as Governor, you have been a fighter on behalf of seniors and their families. And in the United States Senate your impressive record of standing up for older Americans has earned you a perfect 100% rating on the National Committee’s Congressional Scorecard, demonstrating you understand the critical role Social Security and Medicare play in maintaining a high quality of life for older Americans. And while Social Security and Medicare are crucial for millions of Americans, their benefits are modest. The average Social Security check is just over $1,500 a month, and much of that goes towards paying for Medicare deductibles and prescription drugs. That is why you have worked to enhance and preserve these essential benefits, fighting to ensure that New Hampshire’s seniors can live in dignity.

You have also been one of the National Committee’s greatest allies in pushing back against extremist and radical privatization schemes. Seniors deserve and expect the Social Security and Medicare benefits that they have paid for, and you have been unflinching in your opposition to efforts to let Washington politicians and Wall Street raid the benefits of Granite Staters.

There is no membership in the nation more aware or active politically than the men and women who proudly are associated with the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, and National Committee members know they can count on you. That is why we are so proud to endorse your campaign for reelection, and we look forward to continuing our work together to ensure New Hampshire’s older citizens can always count on their earned benefits.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
Chairman, NCPSSM-PAC Board of Directors
