More Than 140 Small Business Leaders Endorse Senator Maggie Hassan for Re-Election, Including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents from Across NH

Small Businesses for Maggie Are Supporting the Senator For Her Record of Cutting Taxes, Boosting Innovation, and Championing Entrepreneurs

Senator Hassan Will Visit Small Businesses This Week in Manchester, Exeter, Nashua, Lebanon, and Claremont

Today, 144 small business leaders across New Hampshire announced that they are endorsing Senator Maggie Hassan for re-election, citing her commitment to fostering innovation and supporting New Hampshire’s small business community. Senator Hassan has been a champion for New Hampshire small businesses and entrepreneurs, working to cut their taxes, boost innovation, and ensure that they have the highly-skilled workforce that they need to thrive.

Senator Hassan will launch “Small Businesses for Maggie” this morning at a stop in Manchester, where she will deliver remarks to small business owners and discuss her commitment to getting results on their priorities. The Senator will also visit small businesses in Exeter, Nashua, Claremont, and Lebanon.

“New Hampshire’s small businesses strengthen our economy and expand opportunity,” Senator Hassan said. “I am so grateful to have received support from 144 small business owners across our state, and I will never stop fighting to support our small business community in the Senate.”

“Senator Hassan is a fighter for small businesses like The Bookery and has a long record of supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in New Hampshire — and that’s why I am proud to endorse her re-election,” said The Bookery owner Liz Hitchcock. “As a founder of a startup, along with a book store, I know that supporting small businesses and innovative startups helps to strengthen our entire economy. Senator Hassan is working to support these kinds of businesses, including by passing the infrastructure law to expand high-speed internet, as well as by passing the competition and innovation bill, which will help strengthen our supply chains and bring more manufacturing jobs to America.”

Senator Hassan is fighting to support small businesses in New Hampshire and across the country. In the last year, she has worked to pass legislation – that is now law – to provide small businesses with the resources that they need to succeed in the 21st century innovation economy, including:

• The Inflation Reduction Act, which includes Senator Hassan’s bipartisan measure to double the federal research and development tax credit for small business and startups, building on her work as Governor to double New Hampshire’s research and development tax credit and extend it permanently.

• The bipartisan innovation and competition bill, which will help the United States outcompete countries like China, invest in American research and manufacturing, and expand workforce development for technology and manufacturing fields.

• The bipartisan infrastructure law that is helping New Hampshire businesses thrive by expanding high-speed internet to every community in the state and improving our roads, bridges, and ports so that businesses can move their goods more efficiently.
