Maggie For NH Launches Two New Television Ads Highlighting Senator Hassan’s Commitment to Working Across the Aisle to Support Small Businesses, Foster Innovation

Thursday, October 14, 2021

Maggie For NH today announced “Solutions” and “Startup,” two new television ads featuring business leaders from Bedford and Exeter discussing Senator Hassan’s commitment to working across the aisle to cut taxes for New Hampshire small businesses, create good-paying jobs, and foster innovation.

In the ads, Eric Soederberg, President and CEO of Sunrise Labs in Bedford, and Carla Vanderhoof, the co-founder of startup Addapptation in Exeter, speak about how Senator Hassan’s bipartisan push to double the research and development tax credit will help their businesses grow and create good-paying jobs for Granite Staters.

“At Sunrise Labs, we are saving lives and improving lives. It’s right here in Bedford, New Hampshire. Our business is completely dependent upon innovation. Senator Hassan gets it,” Soederberg says in “Solutions.” “She’s been here, listening to what we need. That’s why Senator Hassan is pushing for tax credits that help our business, and she does it in a bipartisan way. When you do it in a bipartisan way it sticks.”

“Research and development makes a big difference to an innovative company like ours,” Addapptation Co-Founder Carla Vanderhoof says in “Startup.”

“These innovators — they represent the next generation of business growth,” Senator Hassan says in the ads. “This is just the kind of entrepreneurship and innovation that I am working so hard to promote.”

Senator Hassan has a long record of working across the aisle to foster innovation, reduce barriers for entrepreneurs, and support New Hampshire small businesses and startups. As Governor, Hassan signed legislation doubling New Hampshire’s research and development tax credit and extending it permanently — helping New Hampshire small businesses grow and encouraging entrepreneurship. In the Senate, Hassan is working across party lines to double the research and development tax credit and extend it to more startups and small businesses.

Both “Startup” and “Solutions” feature New Hampshire businesses that are fostering innovation. Sunrise Labs in Bedford creates life-saving medical products and Addapptation builds software to help small businesses.
