In case you missed it, yesterday Senator Maggie Hassan continued her “Granite State Made” tour with stops at Podmore Manufacturing in Pittsfield and Ashland Electric Products in Rochester.
“Facilities like Podmore Manufacturing and Ashland Electric Products are the engine of New Hampshire’s economy. They strengthen our communities, create good-paying jobs, make our economy more innovative, and help propel our state forward,” said Senator Hassan.
“It means a lot to have Senator Hassan visiting us today to listen to what tools we need to stay competitive – both nationally and globally. She’s a clear voice for local manufacturing, helping us streamline our operations and investing in training opportunities to recruit more skilled workers. I’m excited to see meaningful investments from the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act that Senator Hassan negotiated soon reach our facility, and I’m grateful for her visit today and her ongoing support,” said Kerry Podmore, President of Podmore Manufacturing.
“Senator Hassan’s visit today has impressed upon me that the domestic industrial base and New Hampshire manufacturing are priorities of the Senator’s. Manufacturing jobs add more value to GDP and benefits to the workforce than many other industries. Senator Hassan’s support of the CHIPS and Science Act helps NH Manufacturers, like Ashland, by strengthening supply chains and promoting domestic manufacturing. I expect the CHIPS and Science Act will result in better, high paying skilled job opportunities both regionally and nationally. The Senator’s support of manufacturing, reshoring, job training and job creation is a benefit to NH,” said Christophe Cloitre, President of Ashland Electric Products.
Senator Hassan has fought to secure our supply chains, advance American manufacturing, and ensure that we can make more things here in the United States. She played a critical role in developing the CHIPS and Science Act, which will lower costs, bring back jobs to our country, strengthen manufacturing, bolster national security, and ensure that our country can outcompete the Chinese government. And she successfully worked to double the federal research and development tax credit, building on her work as Governor to double and make permanent the state R&D tax credit.
