Senator Hassan, Tiffany Muller Also Join Volunteers and Organizers at a Canvass Kick Off in Plymouth
In case you missed it, Senator Maggie Hassan yesterday discussed her efforts to fight to protect free, fair, and impartially administered elections at a roundtable with End Citizens United/Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller and Plymouth State University students.
Tiffany Muller started the conversation by highlighting Senator Hassan’s continued efforts to fight for fair elections and get dark money out of politics. The group went on to discuss why student engagement is so important to our democracy. Senator Hassan also highlighted the threat that Don Bolduc poses to our democracy, including his repeated election denial claims and his extreme agenda to repeal the 17th Amendment, which would take away the right for people to elect their own Senators.
Later, Senator Hassan joined Muller, along with volunteers and organizers, at a canvass kick off in Plymouth.
“The work of End Citizens United to strengthen our democracy and get dark money out of our politics could not be more urgent — and I am so grateful for its support. Our broken campaign finance system has given corporate special interests undue influence in our politics, and partisan politicians are working to undermine our elections. That’s why for years, I have helped lead the fight to get dark money out of politics. We also must protect the foundation of our democracy: our free and fairly administered elections” said Senator Hassan. “My opponent, Don Bolduc, not only has spread the lie that the 2020 election was stolen — he is already threatening to overturn the 2024 election if his preferred candidate doesn’t win. Students are going to play an instrumental role in meeting these challenges to our democracy. We have work to do — but I know this is a fight we can win.”
“Senator Hassan’s leadership and advocacy on rooting out corruption and protecting voting rights is critical to ensuring that our government is responsive to the needs of Granite Staters, not special interests. She has been at the forefront of efforts to shine a light on dark money, stop billionaires from buying elections, and take on Big Pharma,” said End Citizens United and Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “I’m honored to be in New Hampshire to engage with voters because the stakes of this election will have profound consequences for our democracy. We must re-elect Senator Hassan.”
In the Senate, Hassan is a leader to strengthen our democracy and fix our broken campaign finance system to get corporate special interest money out of our elections. She is pushing to get dark money out of politics, stop billionaires from buying our elections, and ensure free, fair and impartially administered elections. Don Bolduc has spent the past year and a half repeatedly spreading lies about the 2020 election. He has even said he would work to overturn the results of the 2024 election if he disagrees with them.
