MANCHESTER – Governor Maggie Hassan delivered the following statement to supporters tonight on the New Hampshire U.S. Senate race:
“Thank you. We always knew it was going to be close – and while we’re feeling good right now, this race is still too close to call. We continue to have a small but sustainable lead. Based on our results from almost 670,000 votes that we’ve tracked, we have a lead of over 5,000 votes.
“There are still votes to count in a lot of small towns, and we’re confident that we’ll maintain our lead when every vote is in.
“I know that many of our extraordinary volunteers across the state have been working since early very early this morning: holding signs at the polls, making phone calls and knocking on doors – just as they have been doing for months. I want to thank each and every one of them for their tireless efforts to keep New Hampshire and America moving forward.
“I hope that everyone can get some rest tonight, and that we’ll have some good news to report in the morning. Thank you.”
